How to Use a Stanley Miter Box
Miter boxes are use to make angled cuts in wood. Without a miter box or some form of specialized angle-cutting tool, performing angled cuts would be next to impossible. Miter boxes are inexpensive tools that are great for those small jobs that only require a couple of cuts. Things You'll Need
- Stanley miter box
- Piece of crown molding
- Back saw
- Wood screws
- Screwdriver
- Lumber crayon

Attach your Stanley miter box to your workbench with wood screws. This is a very important step. You need the box to be secure while you are using the backsaw.

Measure the piece of molding that you are about to cut. Make a line with your lumber crayon where you would like the wood to be cut.

Place the molding into the miter box and line up your line with the corresponding slots in the box. The lines act as a guide for your backsaw.

Hold the piece of wood firmly with one hand as you saw with the backsaw with your other hand.
