How to Use Silica for Dogs With Cancer
When a beloved pet dog is battling cancer, an owner is often prepared to go to any length to help the animal. As with allopathic (conventional) physicians, many veterinarians are unaware of the possible positive therapeutic effects that natural and alternative therapies can have on an animal. Silica is a trace mineral, which proponents believe helps boost the immune systems of both animals and humans when they are healthy as well as when they are ill. Administering silica to dogs with cancer can be easily accomplished.
Things You'll Need

1
Mix alfalfa sprouts, mashed legumes (after cooking), or cooked whole grains into the dog's food. These foods contain silica.
-
2
Cook some of the dog's favorite foods in beet juice (or cook it in a pot with beets and water). Beets are an excellent source of silica.

3
Administer a capsule of silica, or a multivitamin capsule containing silica. This can be done by placing the pill as far back into the dog's throat as possible, then closing the dog's jaw until she swallows the capsule. Alternately, wrap the pill in a pat of butter and put it in the dog's mouth. She should happily swallow it.

4
Add liquid silica to the dog's food. But if the dog isn't eating properly, administer the liquid silica by putting the correct amount in a syringe (without the needle) and shooting it into the dog's mouth, as close to the throat as possible. Close the dog's jaw immediately until she swallows the silica.

Tips & Warnings
Administer silica as either a liquid, capsule or multivitamin under a veterinarian's supervision. The veterinarian will calculate the correct amount of silica according to the dog's weight and height.
