Instructions

  1. Using Shoe Stretch Spray

    • 1

Purchase a shoe-stretch spray, such as Kiwi Select Universal Shoe Stretch. Products like these allow you to stretch your shoes naturally as you wear them from day to day. These work great on skins like leather, but before you spray this substance on your entire shoe, test a small, inconspicuous spot to make sure the spray won't effect the color of your shoe.

    • 2

Hold the spray can about six inches away from the shoe and spray the inside of the shoe in the areas that need stretching.

    • 3

Wear the shoes to allow them to mold to the contours of your foot. You may need to respray and wear the shoes more than once to achieve the optimal fit.

    Using Ice

    • 4

Fill plastic freezer bags with water until they are about halfway full.

    • 5

Stuff the water bags into the shoes, ensuring that the fit is very snug. If the bag can be easily lifted in and out of the shoe, add more water. If you struggle to get the bag in initially, let some of the water out.

    • 6

Place the shoes in the freezer, and allow the water to freeze entirely. The water should be frozen after three hours, but for best results, leave them in the freezer overnight.

    • 7

Remove shoes from the freezer and pull the bags out carefully, making sure not to yank the bag out of the shoe. You will need to apply a little bit of force, but don't get carried away.

    • 8

Wear the shoes out, allowing them to contour to your foot. Repeat the entire process if they need to be stretched more.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can always take your shoes to a shoe repair specialist or a cobbler to stretch your shoes.

  • Be sure to always test any sprays before applying them to shoes.
