How to Make Your Own Slide Card
Maybe you cannot have a pool party in your backyard because you do not have a pool. But do not let that stop you. Make a summer "slide card" using pool and water motifs. This handmade greeting card centers around a water slide and can be embellished with creative decorations that complete the scene--think of sun stickers, float stickers and tropical food and drink stickers.
Things You'll Need
- 1 sheet of card stock (shade of blue, 8.5 X 11)
- 1 blue sheet of scrapbook paper (size of your choice)
- 1 three-dimensional summer sticker set that includes a water slide
- 1 water slide clip art image
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 glue stick
Instructions

1
Fold one blue 8.5X11 sheet of card stock in half horizontally. This is your card base.
-
2
Cut a 3-inch strip of decorative scrapbook paper with a pair of scissors. Try to choose a sheet that is blue and has a pattern like water, which you can find in your local craft store. This strip will form the "water" or "pool" on the base of the card. You also can use a blue glitter glue pen to make a free-form water border on the base of the card. If you do the latter, allow it to dry.

Cut out a water slide clip art image with a pair of scissors or select a water slide sticker for the front of the card. Slick glue on the back of the water slide paper image and press it onto the front of the card. Or, press the sticker onto the front of the card.

Embellish the card with other pool or summer motif stickers or images such as a sun and a float. Also, consider cutting out real photos of the faces of your family, drawing bodies and cutting them out, and pasting everything on the water slide to make it look like your family is playing in the pool or water sliding.
