Making Your Own Wall Calendar
-
1
Take any pictures that you want to include on your calendar, or use ones you already have. If you opt to take new pictures, think about a possible theme or place you'd like to photograph. Family photos work well, too.
-
2
Create a folder on your computer to store all the files related to the creation of your calendar.
-
-
3
Upload the pictures from your camera onto your computer using the cord that came with the camera.
-
4
Save the pictures on your computer in the project's file folder.
-
5
Open up Microsoft Publisher.
-
6
Click "File" and go to "New." A menu should appear in the left-hand side of the screen.
-
7
Look down the list until you find "Calendar." Choose the "Full Page" option.
-
8
Go through the options and select the calendar style that you want and click on it.
-
9
Follow the menu prompts, which help you select the color scheme you want, the information you'd like printed on the calendar, fonts and other elements.
-
10
Add the pictures you've taken for the project to your calendar. If they are too big, Publisher has a feature that allows you to make them smaller.
-
11
Finish adding pictures and designing all the pages of your calendar. Remember to save your work periodically.
-
12
Print off your calendar pages. Heavy duty ink-jet paper usually works the best, because the colors of the calendar show vibrantly and the paper weight tends to be heavier. However, any paper will work.
-
13
Staple your calendar pages together.
-
14
Transfer the important carry-over dates from your old calendar to your new one. Include dates such as birthdays and anniversaries.
-
15
Add new dates to your calendar. Include school appointments, weddings, graduations and doctor and dentist appointments.

Tips & Warnings
To give your calendar a more "home-made" feel, print just the calendar template without the pictures and glue items on the calendar such as baseball cards, bracelet charms or fun shapes and glitter. (This works well for kids who want to create their own calendars.)
Remember to transfer the dates from one calendar to the other. It's tempting to put this activity off until another time, but the best way to make sure you remember the dates is by transferring them when you're still working on the project.
