How to Clean a Boat Trailer
Most boat owners know the importance of regularly sprucing up their boats and boating equipment, but some never clean their trailer or only wash it periodically. It's a good idea to make a habit out of cleaning your boat trailer every time you clean your boat. One of the best ways to clean both your boat and trailer is with a pressure washer. You'll want to power wash your boat trailer to remove all traces of debris from the day's excursion, especially if you had your boat in saltwater or in a moss-filled lake.
Instructions

-
1
Put on a pair of safety goggles.
-
2
Connect the pressure washer to a garden hose connected to an outdoor faucet.
-
-
3
Spray the entire boat trailer, including the wheels, with water. Work your way all the way around the trailer to make sure it is wet.
-
4
Inject the detergent into the valve on the side wand of the spray gun.
-
5
Clean small areas of the boat trailer at a time, spraying the trailer from about three feet away. If you need extra pressure, bring the sprayer closer to the trailer. Hold the sprayer at a 25-degree angle to the boat trailer. You can damage the paint if you spray the boat trailer straight on. Spray the trailer in an overlapping circular spray as you work your way all the way around. Wash the wheels in a circular motion.
-
6
Rinse the boat trailer beginning at the section that is closest to the truck hookup and spraying back so the soap runs off the back of the trailer. Remember to rinse the wheels.

Tips & Warnings
Do not try to rinse soap off yourself with a power washer; it will burn your skin.
Do not intentionally spray other people with the pressure washer or you could cause serious injury.
Do not use a pressure washer while standing on a ladder, step stool or any other object; if it recoils, it could knock you off.
