How to Wash Motorcycle Helmets
Motorcycle owners and enthusiasts love to ride their bikes. Because the law in most states requires that a motorcycle operator wear a helmet while riding, helmets tend to get dirty easily. Sweat will soil the inside of the helmet, while bugs, dirt and general wear and tear will dirty the outside. Cleaning your motorcycle helmet is a simple task that needs only a few items to complete.

1
Remove the inside lining of the helmet. Not all helmets have a removable liner; if you helmet does, the liner should simply snap out.
-
2
Wet a washcloth and wring out any excess moisture.
-
-
3
Create a soapy lather on your washcloth with the bath soap. Ordinary, unscented body soap will work fine.
-
4
Wipe down the outside of your helmet with the soapy washcloth. Use a circular motion and medium pressure.
-
5
Wet a second washcloth and wring out any excess moisture. Wipe away the soap from the outside of the motorcycle helmet.
-
6
Buff the helmet dry with a third washcloth.
-
7
Flip your helmet over and wash the inside with the soapy washcloth. If you removed the liner, wash it first and then the inside of the helmet.
-
8
Wipe away the soap with the wet washcloth. Using a back-and-forth scrubbing motion will work well.
-
9
Dab the wet spots with the dry washcloth until the inside of the helmet and the removable liner are just damp. Allow the helmet to air dry.
