How to Replace a Windshield Wiper on a Ford Freestyle

Over time, the windshield wiper blades on your Ford Freestyle may need to be replaced. When using your windshield wipers, if you experience blurry vision, skipping of the blade, or deterioration of the blade, then you should replace your wiper blades immediately. Windshield wiper blades are essential to safe driving. Replacing your windshield wiper blades is a job you can do yourself, and it only takes a few steps.

Instructions

1. Place a towel or cloth underneath the windshield wiper blade. This will protect the glass in case the wiper arm accidentally smacks the windshield.

2. Grab the windshield wiper arm and pull up, away from the Ford's windshield, so that the blade and arm are perpendicular to the windshield.

3. Remove the windshield wiper blade from the arm; there will be a small release tab that you can press to release the blade from the arm. Gently slide the blade out of the arm.

4. Install the new windshield wiper blade onto the arm by sliding it into place. Push the release tab down to lock the blade in place. Your wiper blade is now installed and ready for use.
