How to Open Wps Files on the Computer

WPS files are an old form of Microsoft Works word processor files. This file format was replaced by the DOC format in 2006. Despite their being discontinued, many programs will still open these types of files.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open the WPS file on a Windows-based PC using Microsoft Works, Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher.

      Open the WPS file on a Macintosh using Microsoft Works, or Planamesa NeoOffice 2.2 or later.

    • 3

      Convert the file so that it can be opened on a Windows-based PC by downloading the Office File Converter Pack provided by Microsoft. A link to this download is provided in the Resources.

    • 4

      Convert the file so that it can be opened on a Macintosh using DataViz MacLinkPlus.
