How to Patch & Repair Bathtub Porcelain

You can find porcelain repair kits almost anywhere, but the basic tools needed to get the job done can be purchased separately as well. Things You'll Need
- Rubbing alcohol
- 2 rags
- Epoxy-based paint
- Paintbrush
- Sandpaper

Remove any dust and loose dirt with a rag.

Soak another rag in rubbing alcohol and swipe it across the entire surface where you will be making your repair. There is no need to wipe it off since it simply evaporates in a few minutes.

Dip a paintbrush in epoxy-based paint, and begin filling in the scratch. Depending on the size of the scratch, you may want to use a thin paintbrush.

Blend the paint into the ends of the scratch, and then let the paint dry.

Apply another coat as needed until the scratch is filled in completely. You can lightly sandpaper over the scratch to make it even again with the surface of the porcelain tub.
