How to Make Strawberry and Raspberry Herbal Syrup
Strawberries and raspberries make a wonderful combination in syrups. I also add chamomile tea and oatstraw tea to the syrup to boost the nutrition content and I swap out sugar with honey or agave syrup. You can use this syrup on pancakes, desserts, ice cream and anything else you would normally put syrup on--it's delicious and nutritious. Here is how to make it. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup brewed chamomile tea
- 1/2 cup brewed oatstraw tea
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, halved
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 1/8 to 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (to taste)
- More water if needed
- Potato masher
- Saucepan
- Airtight container (if you are storing)

1
Add one cup of water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil and add one chamomile tea bag and one oatstraw tea bag (or 1 tsp. each of the dried herb). Remove tea bag or strain out the loose herb after 5 minutes.
-
2
Return to saucepan. Add raspberries and set the heat to medium. Heat through, stirring constantly.

3
When the mixture boils, add 1/8 cup of the honey or agave syrup and stir. At this point I take a potato masher and squish the berries a little to get it to a nice syrup consistency.
-
4
Assess the thickness and sweetness level. You may need to add more water or sweetener at this point.

5
If the flavors are perfect and the syrup is as thick or as thin as you want it, turn off the heat and let it cool slightly before using. You can also store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
