Instructions

    • 1
      Locate Mudroom Off Front Porch

Determine the location. This may be in the corner of an existing garage, a section of a porch or breezeway, or in a corner of your kitchen.

    • 2
Use Floor Tiles For A Hard Surface

Layout the area. Make the floor of the mudroom out of materials that are able to withstand hard usage and frequent cleaning. Vinyl or tile floors are very suitable for this purpose. Allow plenty of room for maneuverability because at times, there may be more than one person moving around the mudroom.

Build A Low Wall Or Counter

Install a low wall or a counter, this can be constructed to be used for storing shoes, backpacks or other kinds of items. The type of storage required depends upon you and your family's needs.

A Bench Can Be Used While Removing Boots

Construct a sturdy bench to sit on. If possible, build one with a hinged lid, allowing for ample storage within. If space permits, build your bench tall enough to accommodate some storage cubby-holes for shoes and protective shoe wear.
