How to Determine if You Should Buy Extra Sunday Newspapers for the Grocery Coupons
Most people know that you can get coupons for groceries in the Sunday newspaper, but a lot of times people don't think about buying extra ones for the great coupons on a particular week. Some weeks you find decent grocery coupons in the Sunday news and some weeks you just plain "hit the jackpot"! If you want to save a bundle on your groceries, follow these easy steps each Sunday morning and I'll help you save a couple hundred dollars more this year on your groceries.

Subscribe to your local Sunday newspaper. You'll want to have your local Sunday news delivered to your home or apartment, so that you have access to the paper and the coupon section early in the day.

Send your dog or your significant other out to grab the paper from the driveway or porch. Sit down with your Sunday morning coffee and peruse the coupon inserts. (This can also be done right after church.) Clip out the coupons for any items that your family might consider purchasing.

Review the coupons that you have and determine how many high value coupons there are for items that you will probably purchase before the coupon expiration date. If you have 5 or more coupons for $.75 off or more, you will want to consider purchasing additional Sunday newspapers that day for the coupons. For example, when I went through my local newspaper last Sunday and clipped out our coupons, I scored big! We buy Weight Watchers Smart Ones frozen meals and deserts all the time and there were coupons for $3.00 off the purchase of any 10 Smart Ones products, a free Flatbread Smart Ones sandwich with the purchase of any 3 Smart Ones products, and a free Smart Ones Breakfast with the purchase of any 5 Smart Ones products. There was a coupon for $1.00 off any 5 Chef Boyardee cans. There was a $1.00 off coupon for Activia yogurt, which I eat almost every day. There were coupons for $.75 off Scrubbing Bubbles cleaner, Edge shave gel, and any 2 Campbells's Soup at Hand cans, respectively. There was also a $.60 off coupon for Jello pudding snacks and a coupon for $.40 off Pepperidge Farm bread. These were just the BETTER coupons for groceries which will save us at least $13.50, so it was well worth it for the $1.75 local paper. This was one of those weeks that it really made sense to buy a couple of extra newspapers, so I had my husband pick-up 4 more while he was out.

Once you do your quick analysis of your grocery store coupons, decide if it is worth it to pick-up a couple of extra newspapers for the grocery coupons that day. If so, go out and pick them up at the grocery store or corner drug store and clip your additional grocery coupons. It is best to organize your coupons that day or the following day so that you'll have them ready for your next shopping trip. Don't forget to check with local grocery stores in your area to see which stores double manufacturer's coupons on a regular basis, as this can save you even more.
Watch for those special super double coupon and triple coupon sales in your area and clean up big with the extra coupons that you clip from the "bonus" newspaper weeks when you buy extra newspapers.
