How to Get a Kellogg's Grant
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Kellogg breakfast cereal company. Started in 1930, this foundation offers grants to organizations around the world that support children and families and encourage community development. If you want to qualify for one of these grants, carefully follow the guidelines outlined on the Kellogg Foundation's website, wkkf.org.

Read the foundation's priorities and guidelines, found at wkkf.org. Choose a project for your organization to undertake that has priorities that align with the Kellogg Foundation's goals.

Write a budget for your project. Make a vertical list of the equipment or resources you will need. Include staffing, if needed. Write the cost for each next to each item on the list. Write the total cost of the project at the bottom.

Research the demographics of your area. Collect data such as how many people will benefit from your project, their socio-economic status and how many come from single-home families from your clients, or find it in census information at your local library or local government offices.

Fill out and submit an application on the foundation's website at wkkf.org. Submit your organization's 990 form, if asked.

Submit any additional forms or information the foundation requests as a follow-up.

Tips & Warnings
The foundation prefers to fund projects that fit within its main objectives of supporting educated, healthy successful children and families. It does not normally give operational or capital support.
Hearing from the foundation could take up to 45 days. If you do not receive a follow-up request, you will receive a rejection letter.
