How to Make IE Open Maximized

Save

Most Web browsers--particularly Internet Explorer--can be resized and visually customized as much as the user sees fit. By default, Internet Explorer will open at the same size it was closed. If you don't like the current size or positioning of your Internet Explorer browser, there are a few things you can do to change it. When you reopen the browser, it should be exactly as it was before.

  • Open Internet Explorer.

  • Double-click the black bar that displays the name of your homepage at the top of Internet Explorer. This will make Internet Explorer shrink to a small window size.

  • Select the same black bar at the top of Internet Explorer and drag it to the middle of your computer screen.

  • Move the mouse pointer to the edge of the bottom right corner of the Internet Explorer window. Click and hold the mouse while you drag the Internet Explorer window until it reaches the bottom right side of your computer screen.

  • Move the mouse pointer to the edge of the top left corner of the Internet Explorer window. Click and hold the mouse while you drag the Internet Explorer window until it reaches the top left side of your computer screen. Do this until Internet Explorer fills the entire screen.

  • Hold the "CTRL" key, select "File" and click "Exit." When you reopen Internet Explorer, it should open maximized.
