How to Hide Images in Lightroom 2
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is a digital photo cataloging and processing application. Lightroom features several features to let you sift, sort, filter and organize your photos. Using ratings, flags and color labels, you can make your workflow faster and more efficient by automatically filtering and selecting groups of photos based on these attributes. The most fundamental organizational attribute is the "flag," which has three possible values: picked, rejected and unflagged.
Shortcut keys, or "hotkeys," are an important feature for working with photos quickly. All commands can also be found in the menus. Each module (Library, Develop, Slideshow, etc.) has its own set of shortcuts, and each key may do something different depending on which module is active. Hit Ctrl+/ (Windows) or Command+/ (Mac) to display the active module's shortcuts. See the Lightroom Keyboard Shortcuts in the References section.

Tips & Warnings
Workflow is subject to personal preference, and eventually you will develop your own style. Explore using Color Labels, Ratings, Stacking, and Collections for managing your workflow. Use keywords sparingly and only when it makes sense in the context of searching for photos (particularly if you publish your photos online, where search engines allow your photos to be searched by keyword). Keywords should describe the content of the photo itself. For example, if you post a subset of your nature photos on your blog, create a Collection called "blog" instead of adding "blog" as a keyword.
You can flag a selected photo as "rejected" by hitting the "X" key. Lightroom features a command for automatically deleting all the photos flagged as rejected (Windows: "Ctrl"-"Backspace"; Mac: "Command"-"Delete"). Be careful to reject only the photos you want to delete. Review the photos flagged as rejected using the "Delete rejected photos" command.
