How to Dye Human Hair
Hair dye is used for a variety of reasons and can fully change the look of your hair. Whether you are dyeing your hair to cover gray or want a new look, boxed hair dye can help. Part your hair directly down the center, starting at the front of your head and extending back to the crown of your skull. Comb hair thoroughly to eliminate any knots or tangles.

Section out the top layer of your hair using the comb. Secure with a hair clip. Section out the middle layer of your hair and secure with a hair clip. Leave the bottom layer of your hair down.

Put the rubber gloves on your hands. Unscrew the caps of the color bottle and the creme developer bottle. Pour contents of the color bottle into the creme developer. Shake the bottle until the contents are mixed well. This will create the hair dye.

Squeeze a small amount of the hair dye onto your hands. Starting at the roots of the bottom layer of your hair, apply the dye. Use the comb to pull the dye from your roots through your strands.

Take out the hair clip securing your middle layer of hair. Repeat step 4 on this layer.

Take out the hair clip securing your top layer of hair. Repeat step 4 to this layer.

Gather all of your hair and twist it on top of your head. Secure your hair in place using hair clips.

Let the dye sit for 20 to 30 minutes so it can develop completely. Carefully rinse your hair using warm water. Condition your hair to neutralize the damage caused by the hair dye.

Tips & Warnings
If you have short hair, you do not need to section out your hair using clips. Simply apply the dye to your hands and work it through your hair.
Do not allow the dye to come in contact with your eyes. If you accidentally get any of the dye in your eyes, rinse them immediately using cold water.
Do not allow the dye to sit longer than 30 minutes. Over-dyeing can cause severe damage to your hair, including hair loss.
