How to Word an Invitation for Graduation
Graduations are a time of celebration. Family and friends come together to celebrate another completed milestone in the graduate's life. Invitations are usually sent by the parents or guardians of the graduate. The wording on the invitation should be simple and clear. An elegant touch to the wording is a nice touch as well. Remembering these small details will help you create the perfect invitation.

1
The first line of the invitation should include a greeting and the names of the graduate's parents or guardians. An example of this is, "Donald and Susan Blankenship request the pleasure of your company." This is an easy opening to the graduation invitation.
-
2
The next line should tell what the guests are invited to attend and whom the graduation is for. An example of this is, "in Celebrating the Graduation of their daughter, Katie Blankenship."
-
-
3
Tell the guests where the event takes place. Most high-school graduations take place on campus, as do college graduations. In this line, it's fine to remain vague about the location. For example: "from Vanderbilt University."
-
4
Include the date and time of the graduation on the next line. For example: "The Ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. on May 24."
-
5
Close the invitation by inviting guests to an after-graduation celebration. This could take place at a restaurant, dance hall, community center or home. If you want to include an address, include it after you tell guests the location. An example is. "Dinner and Party afterward at Donald and Susan's Home, 2435 Champions Drive, Vanderbilt, TN 35421."
-
6
Include contact information so guests can let parents know whether they can attend. This is considered the R.S.V.P. line. For example: "R.S.V.P. at 742-946-4490."
