How to Get Gifts for the Coffee Buff in Your Life

If you have someone in your life who loves good coffee and coffee-related things, you'll want to find unique and fun gifts for them. You want to go beyond buying a coffee gift basket or a gift card to his or her favorite coffeehouse. If you need inspiration, read coffee trade magazines that you can find at certain coffeehouses or the bookstore. Also ask the coffee buff's friends and relatives for clues on what to get.

Instructions

1. Get tickets to an upcoming barista competition in your area. This is a competition where coffeehouse baristas compete for a prize. If you're also a coffee buff, the two of you can attend the competition together.

2. Throw a surprise coffee-themed potluck birthday party for your coffee buff. Have the guests bring a savory dish and a dessert that has coffee as the main ingredient. A guest can bring coffee crusted lamb chops and mocha-white chocolate cheesecake.

3. Create a scrapbook with pictures you and your coffee buff took together over the years while going to different coffeehouses in the city. Decorate the scrapbook with old coffeehouse cardboard cup scraps, chocolate-covered espresso beans, coffeehouse receipts, and funny quotations about coffee.

4. Arrange for your coffee buff to go on a coffee production plant tour if there is a production plant in your area. Be sure to call the plant a few weeks ahead of time and find out if they offer tours and if so, when they offer them.

5. Bake a homemade coffee-infused chocolate birthday cake with chocolate-coffee liqeur icing. This would especially be a good idea if your coffee buff enjoys chocolate. You can also serve frozen coffees topped with chocolate Reddi-wip.

• Stay away from the generic gifts like coffee mugs or bags of coffee. These are items the coffee buff can get all year-round.

• Be sure not to get gifts that your coffee buff has already. He or she may think you didn't take the time or effort to get a memorable and thoughtful gift.
