How to Put Text on Video & Pictures
Adding text to pictures requires software. Once you have the photo-editing software, it is easy to accomplish. If you don't have access to photo-editing software, you can import your pictures into Microsoft PowerPoint and then add text.

Most digital cameras come with access to free photo-editing software. If you have a Canon camera, for example, you'll have access to ArcSoft PhotoImpression. The first box will give you options of where to get your photo; folder, camera/scanner, video, removable media, or ArcSoft album. Choose the appropriate place and click on the photo you wish to edit.

Click "Create" on the menu bar above the picture. A box will appear to the right with the word text. Click on text.

Choose your font size ( 12, 24, etc) from the drop-down box on the right; most people use 12-point font is used for readability in documents. Smaller than 12 may be difficult to read. Font size depends on the size of your picture. Experiment until you have a size that you like.

Choose the font style from the drop-down box above the font size. If you are displaying your photo via the Internet, consider Arial or Verdana, which are easier to read from a screen.

Choose the color of your text. The color will depend on the color of your photo. If the spot you are using for the text has a dark background, choose a light font and vice versa. Below the font size and style boxes, type the text that you want to appear in the photo in the box.

Tips & Warnings
If you do not have photo-editing software, you can use PowerPoint. Choose insert "picture" from the insert column. Choose text box from the insert column. The cursor will change to a " +" and you can then draw a box with it. You can now type in the box. Right-click the mouse to change the font size, color, and style.
