How to Create Accordion Calendars
Make a large accordion calendar for your home or office desk, or a miniature accordion calendar to fit in your purse or pocket. Personalize your calendar with your own cover design and homemade calendar pages. A fun, colorful accordion calendar will spice up your office desk. Homemade accordion calendars also work well as personal holiday gifts or stocking stuffers.

1
Decide whether you want to make a large accordion calendar or a miniature accordion calendar. Use an eight and one-half inch by 10 inch piece of paper for a miniature accordion calendar, and a piece of paper as large as you need for a larger accordion calendar. Each calendar page should have the same dimensions. In a miniature calendar, each page might be two and one-half inches by two and one-half inches. In a larger calendar, you might want pages that are four inches by four inches or larger.

2
Score the paper with a ruler in regular increments according to your desired calendar page dimensions. For a miniature calendar, for example, score an eight and one-half inch by 10 inch piece of paper twice horizontally to make two long strips, and then score vertically in two-and-a-half-inch increments. Cut the paper along the long, horizontal scores and then fold each strip along the vertical scores. You'll have three accordion strips.

3
Attach separate accordion pieces together with rubber cement or double-sided tape. You might have to attach several pieces together if you're making a larger calendar and couldn't find paper long enough to make one accordion.

4
Add calendar pages to your accordion. You can design miniature calendar pages on the computer, or simply draw them by hand using a ruler, pen and colored pencils. Attach your printed or handmade pages to the accordion with double-sided tape or rubber cement.

5
Design a cover for your calendar on the computer or by hand, and attach it to the face of the folded-up accordion calendar with rubber cement or double-sided tape.
-
6
Add ribbon or string to the calendar to hold it closed if you wish. You can string ribbon through hole-punches on the front and back of the accordion, or glue it to the front and back with rubber cement.
