How to Label a Coupon Organizer

Save

In today’s economy, most people are looking for ways to cut corners and save some money. A coupon holder can be a valuable tool to help consumers spend less on foods and everyday household supplies. The key to using coupons is keeping them organized and up to date. A coupon holder can help you do just that if it is labeled properly. The two most common ways to organize coupons are by category or expiration date.

Things You'll Need

  • Coupon organizer
  • Paper or sticker labels
  • Pen
  • Computer
  • Printer

Labeling by Category

  • Write or print out the names of different categories you will need for your coupons onto paper or sticker labels. Categories may include things such as paper products, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, snacks, frozen foods, personal care, baby products, etc. Focus on the things your family uses most often.

  • Cut out the titles and attach them to the organizer by sliding them into each tab or sticking them into place for each category.

  • Separate your coupons so you have one stack for each category.

  • Insert your coupons into the appropriate sections to keep your coupons separated and all in one convenient container.

  • Take your coupon book to the store with you so your coupons are at your fingertips while you shop.

Labeling by Expiration Date

  • Write or print out the names of the months onto paper or sticker labels.

  • Cut out the titles and attach them to the organizer by sliding them into each tab or sticking them into place.

  • Separate your coupons so you have one stack for each month. Most coupons expire at the end of the month but be sure to place any that expire earlier in the month at the top of the stack.

  • Insert your coupons into the appropriate sections to keep your coupons separated and all in one convenient container.

  • Take your coupon book to the store with you so your coupons are at your fingertips while you shop.

  • Review your coupons at the end of the month so you can remove those that have expired.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you shop mainly at one store, you may choose to note the aisle categories and then organize your coupons in the direction you shop. If you choose this method, just remember you will be spending some extra time fumbling through your coupons if you need to use them elsewhere..
