How to Fix iPod Music
If you are a frequent downloader of material from the iTunes store, then you have no doubt experienced the frustration that comes with downloading a corrupted file, and having it appear in your iPod's music list. You may think you are going to hear a great song, but instead all you get is an error message. Although you may be tempted to suck it up, call Apple support, and wait an hour and a half for the possibility of a refund, there is a way to get a fresh, uncorrupted download--without having to pay for it. Once you have downloaded the new file, you can re-sync it with your iPod.

1
Go to your iTunes purchased music folder. If you are using a Mac, this folder is located in the "User" area in the "iTunes Music" folder under "Downloads". If you are using Windows, this file is in the "Music" (or "My Music for XP users) area in the "iTunes Music" directory under "Downloads".

2
Open the "Downloads" file and look for a "TMP" directory. This is where the corrupted file is being stored. Delete this folder.

3
Open iTunes and click on "Check for available downloads" at the top of the program. A window will pop up with a new download of your once-corrupted file. Confirm that you want to download this file, and then exit. You can now sync this file with your iPod
