How to Write a Religious Thank-You Note

Writing a religious thank-you note is sometimes more appropriate than giving a generic, secular thank-you note, especially if the recipient is in the ministry or is a fellow believer. Religious thank-you notes might also be more appropriate when sending notes following a baptism, confirmation, religious wedding ceremony or funeral. Learning to write religious thank-you notes is not difficult, and the results of your labor are sure to touch the hearts of those who receive your notes.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a relevant Bible verse for your thank-you card. When in doubt, you can choose a Bible verse that pertains to gratitude or thankfulness. Otherwise, you can select a verse pertaining specifically to baptism, communion, loss, birth or whatever your thank-you note is in response to.

    • 2

Print the Bible verse on the inside of your thank-you note, preferably centered and in nice handwriting.

    • 3

Write the date on the lower right-hand corner of the thank-you note.

    • 4

Compose a note thanking the recipient for what they have done for you or given you. Be sure to tie your words into the specific Bible verse you chose, by talking about why it reminds you of them.

    • 5

Choose a closing salutation with religious connotations, such as "Blessings," "Shalom" or "Peace." Sign your name, say a prayer and then place the completed thank-you note into its envelope to be mailed.
