How to Photoshop a Circular Logo
When you are starting a new business or organization, or revamping the image of an old one, you will probably want to have a professional-looking logo that represents you on all your letterhead, ads, product packaging and web pages. One of the more interesting logos you can make is a circular one. You might expect that creating this logo would require having a skilled graphics artist, but if you have access to Photoshop you can quickly (and more cheaply) create this logo yourself.

1
Sketch out on paper your ideas for the logo. It is best to use a simple shape or shape combined with text (if your business or organization has a short name or abbreviation). It is also a good idea to use only one or two colors in your design, with perhaps a third being used as an outline or for text.

2
Open Photoshop. Select "File" and click "New." In the new document dialog that pops up, enter the size you want for the logo, keeping in mind that if you want to use it on a logo sign, you should make it that size in Photoshop, since the raster (bitmap) images Photoshop produces don't enlarge well. This is because these images are made of individual dots called pixels. You can enter the width and height numbers in either pixels or inches. Make the resolution 72 pixels per inch, if the logo is only going on the Internet. If it will be printed, you should make the resolution 300. Make the background "Transparent" and click "OK."

Select the "Pen" from the toolbar and draw the outline of your circular logo. Click on the first point in the outline to close it, or hit "Enter." Now use the tool to draw in the inner shapes of your design.

4
Select the "Paths" tab and right-click on the path listed. Select "Stroke Path."
-
5
Select the "Paintbucket" tool and use it to fill the segments of your design with the color or colors you want.
-
6
Select the "Text" tool. In the options at the top, choose the font style, size and color you want. Now type in the letters on the logo, making sure to keep them inside the circular shape.

7
Select "File" and click "Save." Name your file and save it as a high-resolution JPEG.
