Instructions

    • 1

Measure the width of the window arch. Start at one end of the curved section and measure all the way around to the other end of the curved section. It is not necessary to measure the bottom straight-edge of the window arch.

    • 2

Double the width of the window arch measurement. This will create gathers and fullness in your window treatment.

    • 3

Measure the height of the window arch, at its highest point. This would be the top, center section of the arch, down to the bottom, straight edge of the window arch.

    • 4

Mark the width and height of the window on your fabric. Add 2 inches to the height measurement for the window cover casing.

    • 5

      Cut out the fabric.

    • 6

Measure 1 inch at each short end, or height, of the window cover. Fold the fabric at the 1-inch mark and pin the fold closed.

    • 7

Measure 1 inch along the top and bottom, or the width, of the window cover. Fold the fabric at the 1-inch mark and pin the fold closed.

    • 8

Machine-stitch the short ends of the window arch cover. Machine-stitch the top and bottom of the cover, creating a casing for your window arch curtain rods.

    • 9

Iron your window arch cover. Slip the cover onto the window arch curtain rods and hang into place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Arrange your window arch cover so the gathers are smooth and even.

  • Remove the straight pins as you machine-stitch. Pins can break or bend your sewing machine needle.
