How to Spike a Boy's Hair

Spiked hair is one of the most popular boy's styles. Spiky hairstyles come in different varieties, from faux hawks to liberty spikes to regular short and spiky hair. Styling a boy's hair is quick and easy if you follow a few simple rules. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Shampoo
  • Towel
  • Comb
  • Hair gel or wax
  • Hair spray

Instructions

    • 1

      Wash the hair. Spiked hair looks horrible if the hair is dirty or greasy. Pat (don't rub) dry with a towel. Allow to dry.

      Comb hair in the direction of growth to make sure there aren't any clumps or knots. Put a squirt of hair gel or wax between your fingers and carefully rub the product through the hair, pushing it backward and up and away from the scalp.

      Finish sculpting the spikes in whichever direction you choose. Lightly mist the finished style with some hair spray.
