How to Track Your Stock Portfolio With Yahoo Finance

Did you know that you can track your stock portfolio in yahoo finance. It is quite simple to establish a trackable portfolio. In this article I will explain how to setup your own trackable portfolio with yahoo finance.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Internet Connection
• Yahoo Email Account

Instructions

1. 

   Access Yahoo Finance!

   With you computer access http://www.yahoo.com. Click on the Finance link in the left menu column (I have circled the link in red in the photo posted).

2. 

   Access My Portfolios!

   At the top of the screen you will notice "My Portfolios," wherein there is a drop down menu that states, "Sign In Create/Edit My Portfolios." Click on it to sign into your yahoo account (you will need a yahoo email account).

   Click Create New Portfolio!

   To start tracking a new portfolio, click on create new portfolio. You will want to select the option that states, "track your current holdings." This will allow you to enter the number of shares you own and the price you paid for each share you purchased.

4. Edit Information!

   1 - Name The Portfolio
   2 - Enter Ticker Symbols (separate them with a comma)
   3 - Basic Features (Set Default View To Performance)
   4 - Select Advanced Features
   - Shares Owned
   - Price Paid/Share
   - Trade Date
   - Commissions
   - Upper Limit
   - Lower Limit
   - Notes

   Select the features that you want to be able to track in you portfolio and click continue.

5. Add Information!

   Add in your information! (shares, price paid, trade date, limit(s), notes)
   Click finished to create your portfolio.
