How to Get Rid of Cellulite With Hormones

The hormones in our bodies are like keys; they attach themselves to the receptor in a cell and "open it up," causing that cell to act in accordance with the message the hormone has sent. Presumably, after puberty, our hormone levels become balanced and successfully perform their job carrying messages from one part of the body to another. However, occasionally hormones do not act as they are supposed to. In women, the appearance of unsightly dimples of cellulite are one such result of hormone imbalances. Balancing hormones, particularly estrogen, is one of the most effective ways to treat cellulite, and although there is no pill or magic cream to achieve this, it can be easily done in simple ways.

Decrease high estrogen levels with exercise. According to Dayle Haddon, health and beauty contributor at CBS's The Daily Show, daily exercise of an hour or more may lower estrogen levels. Estrogen is a necessary hormone in the female body. However, too much of it may cause fat to build up and stick together, leading to dimples of cellulite. Commit to exercising for one hour a day. Incorporate both aerobic and weight-training exercises into your routine. Perform leg lunges to target your buttocks and upper thighs, two highly problematic areas of cellulite.

Increase low estrogen levels through your diet. Estrogen supports the production of collagen--a protein in the body that strengthens skin and connects tissue. Collagen contributes to the appearance of smooth and healthy skin, reducing the appearance of cellulite dimples. A diet rich in soy naturally increases the levels of estrogen your body. Drink soy milk instead of cow's milk to naturally introduce soy products into your body and diet. Flaxseed also supports the body's production of estrogen. Sprinkle flaxseed over your bowl of cereal in the morning or add it to your coffee.

Cleanse your body of toxins. We are exposed to toxins daily, and they can radically alter our bodies' natural production of healthy levels of hormones. Drink at least 64 oz. of water daily. Begin your day with an 8-oz. glass of water before having breakfast or coffee. Mix 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar into a glass of water during the day. Consume at least four servings of raw fruits and vegetables. These will not only help to detoxify your body, but contain powerful and vital vitamins that support overall health.
