Instructions

  1. Remove the seat plate

    • 1

Behind the seat of the cart there should be a plastic plate held in by two screws. Unscrew them.

    • 2

Remove the plastic plate and set it aside.

    • 3

Locate the engine's governor. The governor controls the speed of the cart and allows it to go only so fast. It should look like a metal "T" that pivots on a ball bearing toward the front and back.

    • 4

Locate the small metal bar behind the governor.

    • 5

Using the rubber band, attach the silver part of the governor to the metal bar behind it so it cannot rotate forward. If the rubber band doesn't work, use the zip tie.

    • 6

      Reattach the plate and screws.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is dangerous to operate a golf cart without a governor, so be careful. Do this with a cold engine so you don't get burned. Most golf courses do frown on carts traveling at high speeds.
