When working with white glue, there may be times when you accidentally get the glue on fabric. As messy as this can be, white glue is not difficult to remove from fabric as long as you follow several basic steps.   • Fabric
  • Butter knife
  • Cold water
  • Large bowl
  • Toothbrush
  • Liquid laundry detergent

      Allow the glue to dry completely. Use the butter knife to scrape the dried glue from the surface of the fabric. Do not stretch the fabric as you scrape off the glue. When you are finished, the fabric should have only a slight glue residue left on it.

      Fill the bowl with cool water and soak the fabric for at least 10 minutes.

      Add a few drops of liquid laundry detergent to the stained area. Work the laundry detergent into the fabric with the toothbrush to dissolve the glue.

      Rinse the fabric under cool water and allow it to dry completely.

  • If the fabric with the glue stain is not washable, follow Step 1 and then slightly dampen the toothbrush. Work at the glue stain with the toothbrush to try to dissolve the glue stain.
