      Examine the Windows XP license agreement. If you agree to the terms, click "I accept this agreement" and click "Next."

      Enter your Windows XP product key exactly as it is shown on the certificate or instruction manual included with the product. Do not type the dashes between each group of letters and numbers. Click "Next."

      Click "Yes, download the updated Setup files" if your computer has an active connection to the Internet. This downloads updates and security fixes that were not made available until after the Windows XP CD was released. Click "Next." Once this process is complete, the computer will restart and the Windows XP installation will begin.

      Watch the status bar as files are copied to the hard drive. After this process is complete, the computer will reboot and load Windows XP.
