How to Delete All Previous Messages on Blackberry

The BlackBerry, developed by Research in Motion, is a smart phone with numerous capabilities such as 3G wireless Internet, email and SMS and MMS messaging. If you're frequently texting, then those messages can build up rather quickly, creating a long, bogged down text message list. Luckily, Research in Motion created a simple way to delete all messages prior to a certain date on all of their BlackBerry smart phones, including the touch screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Messages" icon from the home screen to open up a list of your SMS and MMS messages. If you're using the touch screen model, tap on the "Messages" icon.

    • 2

Highlight the date from which you'd like to delete all prior messages. Highlight the date with the trackball for non-touch screen phones or tap on the date with your finger on a touch screen model.

    • 3

Click on the BlackBerry menu button. The button appears the same on every BlackBerry phone, featuring the BlackBerry logo. Clicking the menu button opens a pop-up menu list.

    • 4

Click or tap on the "delete prior" options. This opens a confirmation box.

    • 5

Confirm that you'd like to delete all prior messages by clicking or tapping on "Delete."
