      Have ready the test-taker's full name, date of birth, and Social Security number. Since GED records are held by different organizations, you will also need to know where and when he or she took the test.

      Contact your local GED testing center if the GED was taken at a college or school, or through an adult community education program. Contact information for testing centers can be accessed by ZIP code at the American Council of Education (ACE) website, www.acenet.edu/resources/GED/center_locator.cfm. Be aware that some testing centers require a fee to process a request.

      Request a form at the ACE website www.acenet.edu/Content/NavigationMenu/ged/test/after/transcript.htm if the GED was taken overseas, through the military, or at a correctional facility. Be aware that a $14 processing fee is required.
