How to Remove a Pagebreak From a Word Document

Inserting page breaks in Microsoft Word allows you to easily format pages, chapters and sections in a long document. When you insert a page break, the text following the break will flow from the top of a new page. Removing unwanted page breaks is easy as long as you are looking at the right view of the document.

Things You'll Need

• Computer with Word
• Document in Word

Instructions

1. Click on "View" in the main menu and select "Normal."

2. Move the cursor below the dotted line with the words "Page Break" in the center.

3. Hit the "delete" key to erase the break.

Tips & Warnings

• If you accidentally delete a page break that you need in the document, you can easily replace. Place the cursor wherever you want to insert the break, then go to "Insert" then "Break" on the menu, and select "Page Break."

• If you're unable to fix the unwanted break by deleting it, try selecting the text of the paragraph after the break, then open the "Paragraph" box from the "Format" menu. In the "Paragraph" box, click on "Line and Page Breaks." Uncheck the boxes next to "Keep lines together," "Keep with next," and "Page break before."
