How to Change AOL to Internet Explorer's Home Page

You can change the website that appears when you first open Internet Explorer. You don't have to deal with the pesky MSN or Google home page. If your main source of information is AOL or if you use AOL for email, flash games or communicating, you can change your home page to AOL. The options aren't hidden anywhere. You just have to know where the "Internet Options" are on the browser.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Internet Explorer web browser from the icon on your desktop. Optionally, you can go to the "Start" button, "Programs" and then click "Internet Explorer."

    • 2

Select "Tools" from the toolbar. This will bring up a drop-down menu.

    • 3

      Click "Internet Options."

    • 4

Remove the URL from the text box at the top of the "General" tab. When you open "Internet Options," it will automatically open to the "General" tab.

    • 5

Type the AOL home page address into the text box.

    • 6

Click "OK" to save the change.

    • 7

Check to see that it worked by clicking on the button that looks like a house on the browser toolbar. This takes you to the home page. If the website changes to the AOL page, then the save was successful.
