How to Make Spearmint and Tea Tree Oil Mouthwash

Spearmint and tea tree oil mouthwash is a simple, natural remedy for bad breath that can help fight and prevent gum disease and gingivitis as effectively as any commercial product. All of the ingredients can be found in a local health food store or ordered online.   • 2 cups spring water
  • 1/8 tsp. tea tree oil
  • 1 tsp. pure aloe vera gel
  • 4 drops spearmint essential oil

Instructions

      Combine the spring water, tea tree oil and aloe vera gel in a small saucepan. Cover and heat over low heat for about four to five minutes or until warm. Do not let the mixture boil.

      Remove the saucepan from heat. Let it cool to room temperature and add the spearmint essential oil.

      Transfer the spearmint and tea tree oil mouthwash to a plastic or glass bottle. Store the mixture in a cool, dark place between use.

Tips & Warnings

  • To use, rinse your mouth with about 1 tbsp. of spearmint and tea tree oil mouthwash. If the mixture is too strong for you, dilute it in four ounces of spring water.
