How to Create a Pink & Yellow Summer Sunset Eye

A summer sunset looks so lovely you want to wear it all year round. With this bright shimmering look, you can do just that. Coral pink and gold combine for a vibrant yet wearable day look for the eye. This summer-inspired eye works for events at school or even daytime social functions at work. This look will flatter any skin or eye color, however those with darker skin tones will notice that the colors look brighter on their skin. Wear the hair up to show off the face, so that the make-up can be front and center. A white summer dress or a basic T-shirt and jeans flatter this eye look. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Apply eye primer to the eyelid with your fingers. Eye primer is a product used to prevent the creasing of eyeshadow.

    • 2

Pat cornflower yellow eyeshadow with shimmer into the inner corner of the eye and gently pull the color toward the middle of the eyelid. Use a shadow brush to do this.

    • 3

Use a shadow brush to apply an orange eyeshadow to the outer third of the eyelid. This will instantly brighten the eye.

    • 4

Apply a coral eyeshadow over the orange using a shadow brush. Use a blending brush to pull the coral and orange into the yellow. Sweep the brush from the outer area of the eyelid inward to blend the colors. Stop blending just before reaching the inner corner of the eye, so that the inner corner remains yellow.

    • 5

Apply a lavender eye shadow to the outer third of the upper lash line and the entire lower lash line with a liner brush.

    • 6

Apply black gel eyeliner to the upper lash line and outer two thirds of the lower lash line using a liner brush.

    • 7

Finish the look with black mascara. Wiggle the wand as you comb through your lashes. Start at the root of the lashes and wiggle the comb upward toward the tips. Doing this will prevent clumping and slightly elongate your eyelashes. Limit yourself to two coats of mascara to maintain a light feathery effect.
