How to Send Your Picture Files on Your Computer to a CD
Computers can do a number of things with pictures. There are several programs you can use on your computer to download, edit and store your pictures. This allows you to create all types of things with the pictures and you can even send your picture files on your computer to a CD. Use this CD as a backup for the pictures, as a means to copy the pictures for use on another computer or to give it to someone.

Create a new folder for your pictures in the "My Pictures" folder found inside your "My Documents" folder, if there are several different locations on your computer for the pictures. It is easier to send the pictures to the CD from one location.

Place all of the pictures you need to put on a CD in this folder. Locate the pictures on your computer. Right-click on the pictures. Choose "Copy" or "Cut" and then "Paste" the pictures in the new folder.

Insert a blank writeable CD-R--compact disc recordable--or CD-RW--compact disc re-writable--in the CD-writable drive. Open "My Computer" from your desktop or use the "Start" button to access it.

Locate the folder holding the pictures. Go to "My Documents" folder, then "My Pictures" folder and then "Your Picture Folder Name." Highlight the picture files you want to copy.

Hold the "Ctrl" button to select more than one file. Highlight all of the picture files in the folder through clicking on "Select All" found under "Edit" on the menu bar.

Click on "Copy this file" under File and Folder Tasks. Select "Copy this file."

Locate your CD-R drive to send the picture files to in the "Copy Items" box. Select it and then click on "Copy."

Double-click the CD-R drive listed in "My Computer" to see the temporary location that will hold the pictures prior to them being copied to the CD. Check that all picture files you need to copy are shown under "Files Ready to be Written to the CD."

Select "Write these files to CD" located under CD Writing Task to launch the CD Writing Wizard. Follow the directions to send your picture files to the CD.
