Pull the vehicle's front tires onto the trailer and set the emergency brake. This will ensure that the vehicle will not move while you are securing the vehicle to the trailer.

Wrap one of the ratchet straps around the right lower control arm so that the strap ends are hanging evenly. The lower control arm is the metal piece connects the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. Pull the strap to the left side of the trailer and connect the straps to the anchor point on the floor of the trailler.

Wrap one of the ratchet straps around the left lower control arm so that the strap ends are hanging evenly. Pull the strap to the right side of the trailer and connect the straps to the anchor point on the floor of the trailler.

Tighten the ratchet straps by pulling on the ratchet handle until all of the slack in the strap is gone. Do this to both of the ratchet straps connecting the vehicle to the trailer.

Turn on the emergency lights to let other drivers know that you are towing the vehicle. Put the vehicle into neutral.
