How to Sell Bingo Cards

You've probably never considered it before, but selling bingo cards could make you a decent second income. In cities of all sizes there are people playing bingo at churches and other civic organizations. It doesn't take a lot in the way of start-up capital to sell bingo cards. If you've got a home printer you're already almost there. Standing out from the pack is the tricky part. Still, if you're creative, selling bingo cards is easy.

Instructions

Design bingo cards. Anyone can make standard bingo cards on his computer using word processing software. However, this doesn't give buyers any incentive to buy your homemade cards. Larger companies can always produce more cards cheaper. You can get a leg up on your competition by designing bingo cards that stand out. Put interesting designs around the borders while keeping the numbers and letters clear and legible. Remember your audience, but don't be afraid to push the envelope by making bingo cards that really dazzle.

Scan your designs. Using a high-quality color scanner, scan your bingo card designs into your computer. This will make them much easier to access repeatedly. You can also use photo-editing software to put numbers onto your bingo cards digitally, rather than manually, if that is your preference.

Generate numbers. The Internet has sites that will generate bingo cards for you. This is an excellent service, as it saves you the trouble of having to figure out how to generate numbers manually. Go to a website (see Resources) and generate as many bingo card numbers as you need. Then enter these numbers into the spaces on your bingo cards.

Research your client base. Look around and see who is having bingo nights. There are, of course, the local churches. But think about where else there are bingo nights, such as fraternal organizations and their adjuncts, veterans associations and elder care facilities. Attend as many of these events as you can to get a feel for how active the bingo night is and what type of client goes there.

Contact event coordinators. Call up the places you have researched. Find out who is in charge of running bingo night. Then make sure that this is the same person in charge of purchasing bingo cards.

    • 6

Sell your cards. Call the person in charge of buying bingo cards. Ask her if it is a good time to talk. Better yet, try and set up a face-to-face appointment. The appeal of your homemade bingo cards will be much more apparent when the person is holding them in her hands.

Tips & Warnings

  • When selling your cards, don't take the first no for an answer. Study what salesmen call objections. See what responses you have. Remember that while you are selling a common product, your bingo cards stand out because of their catchy designs that go beyond the standard card format.
