If you have made changes to your Toshiba Satellite’s BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) settings, you may find the need to restore the BIOS to the original factory default configuration. If you need to do this, it doesn’t mean that you need to somehow remember exactly how it was originally configured. Toshiba offers a “Restore to Factory Default” option within the BIOS management screen. You can reset your BIOS back to the original settings with just a few keystrokes.
Turn the power on to your Toshiba laptop. Restart the computer if it is currently running by clicking the “Start” button on the Windows task bar. Select “Turn Off Computer” in the Start menu, then click “Restart.”
Watch for your computer to power back on after the reboot process. You will need to enter the BIOS reset utility before the reboot process completes.
Hold down the “Esc” key on your keyboard during the reboot process. Press the "F1" key when prompted to start the BIOS reset.
Wait for your computer to complete the reboot process once the BIOS reset has completed. Windows will launch once the BIOS has reset.
