A Tablet PC is a Windows operating system-based computer that allows you to enter and process data directly on the computer's screen with a stylus instead of using a keyboard. Tablet PCs, which are portable and small in size, can perform the same functions as traditional computers. The devices are bundled with an array of applications including a feature called the Input Panel that makes it easy to enter letters and numbers. The Tablet PC's Input Panel can be removed from the computer's screen by changing the system's configuration.

  • Turn on your Tablet PC if it is off.

  • Click the Windows symbol at the bottom-left corner of your computer's Desktop. If your system has a Windows XP Desktop layout, click “Start.”

  • Click “Control Panel.”

  • Click “Programs and Features.”

  • Click “Turn Windows features on or off.”

  • Click the check box by “Tablet PC Optional Components” to deselect the Input Panel option.

  • Click “OK.” The Input Panel is now disabled.

  • Click the “X” in the upper right-hand corner to close the “Programs and Features” dialog box.

  • Click the Windows symbol on the bottom left-hand corner of your computer's Desktop. If your system has a Windows XP Desktop layout, click “Start.”

  • Click “Turn Off Computer” followed by “Restart” to restart your Tablet PC.
