    Things You'll Need

    • Dryer sheets or old socks
    • Window cleaner
    • Ties to hold curtains
      • 1

Gather the items you will need: old socks or dryer sheets, ties for window coverings and window cleaner.

      • 2

Pull back curtains or window coverings and tie far enough back to keep them out of your way, close the blinds completely.

      • 3

Run your fingers covered with either a dryer sheet or an old sock (sprayed lightly with window cleaner), across the first slat of your blind, starting from the center of the top slat work your way to the edge. Continue working your way down to the bottom, using this method. When you reach the bottom, start again from the top and run your fingers the opposite way from center of top slat to the bottom. Replace the dryer sheet or sock when dirty and use a fresh one.

Next open your blinds so the underneath side is facing up - starting again from the center of the top slat, run fingers across to the edge. When you reach the bottom , start again from the top and use this same method in the opposite direction, until you reach the bottom again.

Untie your curtains, throw the dirty dryer sheets away or wash the old socks and reuse them the next time you need to clean your Venetian blinds.
You should now have clean blinds, without having to remove them and rehang!

    Tips & Warnings

    • You may substitute old rags for the dryer sheets or old socks.

    • Water can be used instead of window cleaner, although window cleaner will help remove stains better.

    • Always test a hidden area if you are using window cleaner!

    • Do not use this method on wood blinds!
