When your windshield wiper switch finally dies, replacement switches can be purchased from auto parts stores if your vehicle accepts a universal switch. If not, purchase a switch from a dealership.

      Remove the screws underneath the steering column cover that hold the cover in place, using a screwdriver. Normally, there will be two screws that hold the cover in place.

      Pull down on the steering column cover to remove it.

    • 3

      Remove the electrical leads running to the wiper switch.

    • 4

      Remove the screws that hold the wiper switch in place, and pull the wiper switch off the steering column.

    • 5

      Install the new wiper switch. Installation is the reverse of removal.
