How to Uninstall WordPerfect

A commonly used word-processing program is WordPerfect. Whether you are reinstalling it to fix an error, uninstalling it for a newer version or just trying to remove it altogether, it is useful to know how to uninstall WordPerfect, or any program for that matter. Luckily, there is a standard method for uninstalling all applications that were installed in Windows, WordPerfect included.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your "Control Panel." You can access "Control Panel" either from the Start menu (may be under a "Settings" category) or from "My Computer," where it may be on the left side of that window or in the list below the various drives, depending on your settings.

    • 2

Look through the list of controls in the "Control Panel" until you find "Add or Remove Programs." Open that control.

    • 3

Find WordPerfect. In the new window that appears, it will appear blank at first. It takes a while to populate the list, so don't press any buttons yet--just wait until a bunch of icons with program names appear in the list of "Currently Installed Programs." When you can see these programs, look for WordPerfect in that list (the list should be in alphabetical order).

    • 4

Uninstall WordPerfect. Select WordPerfect, and it should be shaded dark blue with some expanded text with it. To the right there is a button labeled "Remove." Make sure that it is WordPerfect that you have selected, and click "Remove." There will be a confirmation window to confirm that you want to uninstall WordPerfect. Choose to uninstall it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sometimes when you click on one program to uninstall it, it highlights the one just above or below it. Make sure the correct program is highlighted.
