How to Minimize Blackheads
What is black, filled with leftover debris and is a type of acne? They're blackheads, small dot-like lesions that inflame the pores and leave cosmetically unpleasant marks on the skin. Squeezing them out is not the best method for removing these dots, however. According to Quickcare.org, squeezing can cause infection, turning those black specks into red, pus-filled lesions. Things You'll Need
- Flat blackhead remover
- Large bowl
- Hot, steaming water
- Exfoliant wash with salicylic acid

Gently scrub the face with an exfoliant agent containing salicylic acid. Apply it evenly over the face, carefully massaging it into the skin. Wash it off with warm water and pat dry.

Fill a bowl with hot, steaming water and place the face over it. Allow the steam to penetrate the skin for several minutes.

Place a flat blackhead remover directly over the blackhead and press down firmly until the debris pops from the pore. Repeat the process for any other blackheads, pressing down firmly but gently.

Follow up by washing the face every day with a mild, water-based cleanser. Avoid wearing makeup foundation, which clogs pores and causes blackheads to form. If foundation must be used, only use hypoallergenic brands.
