How to Remove Concealer Makeup From Fabric

Save

Concealer gets on clothing during application, dressing or other contact. Concealer can stain clothing. Treat the area as soon as you can to prevent a permanent stain. Removal of the product depends on how it’s made. Oil-based products are harder to remove. Powder and liquid concealers contain different chemicals. The type of chemical determines what to use to remove it. Concealer is similar to foundation in make and color. Remove the stain before washing. Drying the washed article can cause the stain to stick to the fabric forever.

Things You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Paper towels
  • Gently scratch off or wipe off excess makeup.

  • Pour hydrogen peroxide on the spot if the concealer is oil-based or liquid. Use laundry soap for powered concealer.

  • Gently scrub the spot with the toothbrush.

  • Rinse. Wash in a washing machine.

  • Check for the stain. If it's still there, repeat the process. If it's gone, dry it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test hydrogen peroxide on another area of the fabric that people won't see. It may bleach the fabric.
