How to Reset My E-Machine with System Restore
The System Restore function was first included in Windows XP and has been included in every version of Windows since then. The function is very useful as it allows users to easily undo damage to their computer, as a result of viruses and other problems. Resetting the E-Machine computer using System Restore is both effective and easy to do.

Click the Windows "Orb" located on the bottom left of your screen.

Click "All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore." System Restore will then open.

Click "Choose a different restore point" and then click the "Next" button.

Select a restore point on screen that comes before your computer changed. The restore point chosen should not be any older than one week.

Click "Next" to proceed with the restore. Click "Yes" when asked if you are sure you want to restore the computer. System Restore will then begin resetting your eMachines computer. The process may take a few minutes or as much as an hour to complete.

Click "Close" when the dialog box appears stating that the restore has completed successfully. Your computer has now been reset with System Restore.

Tips & Warnings
Don't turn off your computer while System Restore is running. Doing so may corrupt the restore point and make restoring the computer much more difficult.
