How to Get Rid of the Blur in the Sims PC Game

Your Sim's hygiene is low, in fact she is giving off green fumes. You send her straight to the bathtub and she quickly climbs in. However, this little person living in your computer, with whom you spend every moment of her little Sim life, is forced to be modest by an annoying blur when she is nude. A Sims cheat code or nude patch will make the blur disappear. So if you are not offended by nude Sims, you can make the blur go away.

Things You'll Need

  • The Sims 2 or 3

Removing the Blur in The Sims 2

  • While you are playing the game, press Control+Shift+C. A small field appears at the top of the screen. This is where you can enter cheat codes.

  • Enter 'intprop censorgridsize 0' to turn off the nude blur. This removes the blur and makes your nude Sim look a bit like a Barbie doll. No explicit details are shown.

  • If Step 2 did not remove the blur, go to the Simsky website (see References) and install "See Them 2.31." This is a small program that is reputable and easy to use. It will install the Sims nude patch and offers a few other game modifications.

Nude Patch for The Sims 3

  • Download a Sims 3 nude patch. In Sims 3, there is no simple cheat code for nude Sims. A good place to download is The Pirate Bay website (see References). Its patch works on both PC and Mac.

  • Make sure your Sims game is not running.

  • Copy the downloaded file to the correct folder.

On the Mac, open Finder. In Applications right-click on "The Sims 3." Select "Open Package Contents."
On a PC, open Explorer and look for "C:Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/GameBin."
The downloaded file is called Shaders_Win32.precomp.

  • Make a copy of the file currently on your computer and place it in another directory. This gives you a backup file in case something goes wrong.

  • On the Mac, drag the downloaded file into /Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The SIms 3/Game/Bin/." It will replace the current file.
On the PC, copy the file into the GameBin directory listed in Step 2. It will replace the current file.
